Dodgeball Alberta Announces Coaching Staff for Team Alberta Heading to Nationals

Edmonton, AB – Dodgeball Alberta is proud to announce its coaching staff for Team Alberta, who will lead the province’s top athletes to the 2025 Dodgeball Canada National Championships in Waterloo, Ontario, on October 4–5. This dynamic group of coaches brings together a strong blend of high-level playing experience, tactical knowledge, and coaching expertise across both the men’s and women’s programs.


Women's Program Coaching Staff:

  • Joshua Sakura – Head Coach (Womens) A recent addition to the Alberta dodgeball community, Joshua brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. He was the assistant coach of the 2024 Canadian Women’s Foam Team that captured gold in Austria. Currently the head coach of the women’s club team Reckless, a championship-winning squad, Joshua is eager to make his mark in Alberta.

  • Cody Foley – Assistant Coach (Womens) With elite-level playing experience on both Team Canada and Team USA, Cody offers invaluable insight and leadership. As another new Albertan, Cody is excited to contribute to the development of the provincial program.

  • Kristopher Banner – Assistant Coach (Womens) Kristopher brings a unique coaching perspective from his background in football, paired with dodgeball experience as an assistant coach for the club team Requiem, who impressively qualified and competed in the top tier during their inaugural year. Known for his analytical mindset, Kristopher will focus on statistical analysis and performance metrics.


Men's Program Coaching Staff:

  • Ian Randle – Head Coach (Mens) Hailing from Ontario, Ian brings strategic brilliance to the men’s program. He served as the assistant coach of the Canadian Men’s Foam Team in 2022 and currently leads the men’s club team Saiyan Elite DC. His sharp game sense and leadership will be key assets heading into Nationals.

  • Grant Freeman – Assistant Coach (Mens) A long-time competitor at the national level of dodgeball, Grant pairs his experience with academic knowledge, holding a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. His passion for player development and athletic performance will help push the men’s team to new heights.
