Amanda Furst

Head Coach, Mixed Foam

Amanda has had a love of dodgeball for many years. She hosted her first fundraising tournament in 2005 and has been involved in the sport ever since. Amanda began playing recreationally in 2010 but then migrated into the competitive realm with the introduction of Dodgeball Winnipeg in 2016. Amanda has participated in all the Manitoba Provincial championships since 2016 and has attended three National tournaments. In the most recent Nationals, Amanda was co-captain of Prairie Fire, who brought home a bronze medal. Amanda has also participated in dodgeball tournaments in Singapore, Bali, and USA.

Outside of playing the sport, Amanda has had various roles on the board of Dodgeball Manitoba including Player Development, Vice President and President. She also hosts an annual large-scale tournament known as GO! Epic Dodgeball that funds her charity – Growing Opportunities International (GO!). Through her charity work in East Africa, Amanda has also helped develop and support the Tanzanian Dodgeball Federation. When not involved in dodgeball or charity work, Amanda is a physical education teacher. She is looking forward to coaching the Canadian Co-ed Foam Team with her partner in life and in all things dodgeball, Kevin Harder.
